Poolville ISD Statement on A–F Accountability Ratings

Dear Poolville ISD Friends, Families, and Supporters,

Recently, the Texas Education Agency released its annual A–F accountability ratings for schools across the state. While we always welcome feedback on how we’re doing, we want to acknowledge openly that our rating this year does not reflect the high expectations we hold for ourselves or the bright potential we see in our students.

We take this seriously. Our mission has always been to ensure that every student who walks through our doors is supported, challenged, and prepared for success. This rating shows us that we still have work to do — and we are committed to doing it.

Already, we have begun exploring ways to strengthen instruction, support teachers, and give students the tools they need to succeed. These include:

  • Increasing targeted academic interventions for students who need extra help

  • Expanding professional development for our educators

  • Partnering with families and community members to support learning at home and at school

  • Using data more effectively to guide instruction and monitor progress

  • Student attendance incentives

A single rating does not define our school, our students, or our community. What defines us is how we respond. We are determined to make measurable improvements, and we invite you to be a part of that journey. Together, we can ensure that every student at Poolville ISD thrives.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Sincerely,

Chris Pennington
